Introductory Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop® is the undisputed gold standard in image editing software and one of the most complex programs ever written for the personal computer. This course, taught by a colleague, Mary Jensen of Artisan Photography, will cover the basic concepts behind successfully editing your images in Photoshop and encourage the practical and artistic applications of this amazing software. In this course we will cover the following:
- The Photoshop interface, including major menu items and tool bars.
- Adobe Camera Raw, the part of Photoshop that allows you to develop your RAW files. (Don’t know what a RAW file is, or why you should be shooting to create this type of file? Perhaps you should consider my photography course: The Art and Craft of Digital Photography)
- Basic colour and density adjustments using Curves, Levels, and Hue/Saturation.
- Basic layer masking to limit the effects of adjustments.
- Colour management, sharpening and printing from Photoshop.
To enroll in this course you must have your own laptop computer (PC or Mac) and have loaded a copy of Photoshop 7 or newer. This course will not cover Adobe Photoshop Elements?. Contact Mark Glavina at Phoenix Art Workshops: 604-448-1860 to register.
